Weekly Weigh In November 27th 2009
I’ve been back from Florida for nearly two weeks now and diet wise I’m still not back into the zone. My head is still in celebrating mode and this week I’ve been out for an Indian and a Chinese. Plus last night we ordered a pizza from the Domino’s pizza shop which has just opened up around the corner from were I live. I know I shouldn’t being doing this, especially on the night before a weekly weigh in.
Training wise though I’ve been fantastic, and haven’t missed a workout. Having just stepped onto the body fat scales I am amazed to tell you that my body weight as gone up slightly whilst my body fat percentage as dropped a little bit. This is unbelievable I thought I had put on around 4 to 5 pounds this week. The only thing its down to is my metabolism, its now running at a faster rate as I build up more lean muscle mass.

This is why you should ever go on a rapid weight loss program because your metabolism is so slow anything you eat will instantly be stored as fat. Just under 5 weeks to go till the end of 2009, hasn’t it just flown by. I really need to knuckle down again on my diet and start burning lots and lots of body fat each week. One things for sure I will definitely be below 19.4% body fat, I’m aiming to be at around 15 to 16% body fat. I still think I can do it, but as I’ve told you on numerous occasions losing fat isn’t easy. It takes a lot more work than just losing weight.
Losing weight for me as always been easy I’ve started the year weighting 234 pounds, but if my goal was to lose 40 pounds. I could lose that in just a few months. But my goal was to lose body fat, which should be every one’s goal. This is were it started getting difficult, but I’ve stuck at it and lost quite a bit of fat in 2009 so far. But I’ve still got a long way to go, so I need to get my head down and get back in the fat loss zone as soon as I can.
Weekly Weigh In November 20th 2009
I got back from my wonderful wedding in Orlando Florida on Saturday, feeling like I hadn’t put on too much weight. During the first week I was strict with my diet and did lots of exercise in my hotel room using the fantastic perfect push up machines. I also did lots and lots of walking around the theme parks. During the second week, I was slightly less strict with my diet and ate a little bit more. I still exercised every other day which I so glad I did because I think it really helped in me not gaining weight whilst on my holiday.
On Monday I was curious as to what I weighed following my two week holiday, I was so surprised to find out that I had actually lost 4 pounds and my body weight was down to 188 pounds. Since Monday I’ve increased my carbs and protein to help me gain some lean muscle mass so that I can continue lowering my body fat percentage. OK having just stepped onto the body fat scales my weight at this weeks weekly weigh is 191 pounds with a body fat percentage of 20.1%. I’m really happy because my body fat percentage as gone up slightly, but I have managed to actually lose weight whilst I’ve been away. The increase in body fat is all down to not eating lots of lean protein at every meal, plus there was a 5 hour gap in between each meal which isn’t good for burning fat and increasing your metabolic rate.
I’m now back to eating every 2 to 3 hours and ensuring that I have plenty of lean protein and complex carbohydrates at every meal. The change in diet will help me to start losing fat again, I had a workout in my home gym yesterday and I’m pleased to tell you that it was a good one. I had the energy to complete my full program, plus my strength is returning and this has only got to be down to me eating a little more healthy again.

I’m still finding it hard to believe that I’ve lost weight over the last 2 weeks, I was eating burgers, pizzas, all you can eat chinese and other delicious tasting junk food. Its all down to the way I’ve been eating and training over the last few weeks. My metabolism is running at an extremely high rate at the moment, this is because I’ve now started doing the correct things and actually eating more food. One things for sure I would ever return to those fad crash diets that leave you feeling and looking like s***.
Man Flu and trying to get back on track
I arrived back from Florida on Saturday and ever since I got back I’ve been full of a cold and feeling tired all the time. Its probably a combination of being jet lagged and having man flu. At the moment my nose is constantly running and I’ve got a very mild headache. This is really eating into my fat loss progress because I’ve been eating comfort food and not working out as hard as I usually do.
Since I’ve been back I’ve completed two half hearted sessions in my home gym, plus my protein intake as been quite low. This drop in protein as really eaten into my overall strength and I finding myself a lot weaker in the gym than I usually do. Another reason why I’m feeling weak is down to my body weight, on Monday morning I weighed myself and I was weighing in at 188 pounds. This means that I managed to lose around 4 pounds in body weight whilst in Florida. Which I find very hard to believe when you look at what I ate during the last week in Florida.
It must of been down to all the walking I did around the theme parks, wish I would of got myself a pedometer to see exactly how many miles I walked whilst in Orlando. I’m glad I managed to come back not gaining weight though, because that would of been disastrous to my fat loss journey at this late stage in the year. Its now time to knuckle down again and start losing even more fat over the next few weeks.
I’m looking at being around 15% body fat come the end of 2009, this year as been a learning curve for me and over the past year. I’ve learnt so much about my body and what I need to do to start losing fat. I have always told you that losing weight is easy, but losing fat is much harder. You need to be eating the right foods at the right time. Starting this weight loss blog as been the best thing I’ve done because it has kept me motivated to keep moving forward. I’ve made lots of mistakes so far this year, but I’ve kept with my program. I’ve even improved it and found new things that will allow me lose fat and lower my body fat percentage. Its now time to stick at it and start shifting fat
