Calories Burned Swimming
If you are looking for a exercise program that will tone up your body all over swimming is something that you should seriously consider. It is a low impact form of exercising and is perfect for almost everyone. That is everyone who can swim, if you can’t I highly suggest you get some lessons because the calories burned swimming are fantastic and will quickly help you with your weight loss progress.
Swimming is an exercise that I use quite a bit when I’m on holiday or vacation. Because when it’s hot its a fantastic way to exercise and still feel cool. Plus when your on holiday who wants to be working out in a small and dingy gym. Which is what you will find in a lot of hotels gyms. When I go away I always over indulge in calorie laden beer and delicious tasting junk food. This all takes a toll on my daily calories intake. So I find that by doing a 30 minute to one hour swim is excellent and the calories burned during swimming help to keep my weight down. Plus the swimming will also elevate your metabolism which means you will burn off more calories throughout the day.
I’m the first to admit that I drink too much when I’m on holiday and often wake up with a bad head and hangover. So I find that jumping into an nice cold pool quickly wakes me up and once I get swimming the hangover quickly disappears. I like to rehydrate myself first by drinking a large glass of water before I start swimming because in the morning I’m dehydrated because of the excess alcohol. I find its best to get your swim in before 10 am, because any time after that you can not move in there due to the kids playing and the inflatables toys floating everywhere around the pool.
Going on holiday for me has always been a problem and 9 times out of ten I put on quite a bit of weight why I’m away. But on my last holiday to Spain I did quite a bit of exercise in the hotel gym and also I found that the calories burned by swimming helped to stop me gaining weight. In fact on that holiday to Spain I came back actually having lost weight. Which is fantastic saying that we stayed in an all inclusive hotel were you can eat and drink as much as you want for FREE.
My New Reebok I-Run Treadmill
My new Reebok I-Run treadmill has arrived today and I must say that I’m very impressed with it so far. The price I paid for it was an absolute bargain, over the easter weekend Argos was holding a sale with many items being half price. And guess what my new Reebok treadmill was half price. My regular blog readers will know that I like to do all my cardio on my exercise bike. But sitting on a bike for over one hour each night for the last 50 days was getting a little bit boring. I needed to add something new into my cardio workouts and this treadmill is perfect for doing just that.
The normal price of the Reebok I-Run treadmill with Argos should be £489.39, but over the easter sale I got it at half price which at £244.69 is an absolute steal. Just checked on the argos website and its back up to full price. Don’t you just love it when you get yourself a bargain.
Here’s a picture of my new Reebok Irun treadmill which will hopefully be burning off lots and lots of calories in the very near future.

It’s a fantastic treadmill and I know the price swayed me into buying it, but after reading the fabulous reviews it gets I know that I have got a good piece of kit to add to my home gym. What I like most about it, is the size it’s not too big. Which is fantastic for me because at the moment I’ve got a very limited amount of space available in my home gym. It also folds up which is a fantastic space saver when the machine is not in use.
Let’s look into the features that the Reebok I-Run treadmill as which will benefit me. It go’s up to a maximum speed of 14 km an hour which is more than enough for me. It’s got hand grip sensors which let’s you know the amount of calories that you are burning during your workout. You get console feedback on time, speed, calories burned and distance travelled and much more. Overall having just tried the treadmill out for myself I am extremely pleased with my new addition to my ever growing home gym.
My Best Calorie Burning Day So Far
Today as been a fantastic day for me exercise wise I have completed a whopping three hours of exercise so far. I’ve done two 1 hour cardio sessions on my exercise bike and I’ve managed to get a one hour weight training session in as well. I’ve still got time to fit in another one hour session but I think I will call it quits for today. The words over training are springing into my mind again.
The three hours of exercise I’ve done today have allowed me to burn off a whopping 1950 calories, the main reasons why I’ve done so much exercise today is because I feel that due to my knee injury earlier in the week, that’s this week results were going to be bad and I don’t want that to happen. They still might be, because exercise and diet wise I’ve had quite a bad week. Hopefully though when I have my weekly weigh in tomorrow morning I will see results that please me. I’m not really bothered if I put weight on because I am already slightly below my target body weight I just want to see a reduction in my body fat percentage.
In the space of three weeks I have been able to lower my body fat by 2%, I know that it doesn’t sound like a lot but if you look at it this way 2% of 200 pounds is 4 pounds. So 4 pounds of pure fat loss is not a bad results in my eyes. I’m better educated now in the right and wrong ways to losing weight. Before I started this body fat loss journey I would consider a 2 pound weight loss for a week pathetic. In the past I have been able to lose 7 and 8 pounds per week, what a fool I was I’m paying for it now because at the moment my body has that skinny fat look appearance to it.
I look really slim in my clothes, but I’m still carrying a lot of fat that quite simply has to go. I am so focused and motivated to shifting it, I would put my house on me being ripped up come Christmas time. But the only way that I’m going to achieve my goal is by eating the correct foods at the correct time and by burning calories through exercise. The 50,000 calories in 50 day challenge has really challenged me, like I have never been challenged before, but because I set the goal and documented it on the blog were my family and friends can see it. Failure is not an option, I burned 1950 calories today if I need to burn off 3000 calories on day 50 I will do it. Hopefully though with a few more big calorie burning days I will be back on track and only need to burn off the daily requirement of 1000 calories.
