Walking For Weight Loss
Still injured this morning but I’m feeling much better today, reckon I will be able to return to light cardio on my exercise bike tomorrow, then hopefully back to my high intensity interval training cardio workouts within the next few days. But I haven’t let the injury stop me doing exercise I have been walking for one hour each day since I picked up the injury. I’m still clueless now I managed to pick up the injury a little part of me thinks it is down to over training.
People all over the world use walking as their main weight loss aid. Walking is a low impact form of exercise but you are still burning calories by doing it. I’m probably burning around 350 calories per hour that I walk, but if you compare this to the usual 760 calories per hour that I burn during my cardio workouts this means I’m beginning to fall slightly behind on the 50,000 calories in 50 days challenge.
I’ve just returned from a one hour walk and I must say I thoroughly enjoyed it. The sun was shining which makes a very pleasant change for the UK, and I was listening to my favorite music on my ipod. Just catching a quick bite to eat then I’m going in my home gym later for one hour weight training session, I’m training biceps and triceps today.
The swelling on my right knee is reducing fast now, so my walking for weight loss will probably be stopping today. Fingers crossed I will be well enough to get back on my exercise bike tomorrow. Don’t get me wrong I’ve enjoyed the change in my cardio exercise for the past three days, but it just doesn’t burn off enough calories for me. If you are new to exercise and once you consult with your doctor, something we should all do before we start a diet and exercise program. They will probably suggest that you start off exercising my walking. Walking is a fantastic form of exercise and the best part it’s free.
Cardio Exercise In The Morning
I’ve got 4 weeks on Sunday to go till my friends stag weekend in Benidorm, and to be perfectly honest I’ve still got a long way to go till I feel comfortable taking my shirt off on the beach. I’m working extremely hard at the moment and doing most things right. I know that I can do better though.
My diet is fairly good but I am still snacking slightly in between meals. I am 100% better than I use to be though. I’m doing on average around one hours cardio each day, so on weight training days I’m doing two hours of exercise that day. So if I’m working late I’m finding it extremely difficult finding the time and motivation to keep doing it.
The experts say that the best time to burn fat during exercise is first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. I’m currently getting up for work at around 7am. So I am going to start setting my alarm clock to 6 am and get my cardio exercise in then. Not only should I benefit from having more time for myself when I finish work but hopefully I will be burning more fat. And the one hour cardio session each morning will give my metabolism the much needed boost I think it is needing at the moment.
I’ve been exercising nearly every day during 2009, it does get a little tiresome and boring. But I know that it will all be worth it in the end, when I reach my target body fat percentage of 10%. Lots of people have emailed me and said reaching ten percent body fat is easy. Why don’t you aim lower and really gets your abs to show. Well I’ve set myself the target of 10% because an extremely low body fat percentage is not only dangerous it is extremely difficult to maintain.
I want to reach a target goal and weight that is has easy to maintain as possible. I know 100% that I can not keep up with my current diet and exercise routine it’s just not practicable. I also know that I can not return to my old ways. I need to find a happy medium once I reach my goal that will allow me to maintain it. Losing the weight and body fat is going to be the easy part, keeping if off is the part that separates the winners from the losers.
Calorie Burning On My Stationery Exercise Bike
Hi everyone If you don’t already know I’ve got a stag weekend in Benidorm planned in less than 50 days. And I want to lose as much body fat as I can. This is not going to be easy, but with determination and will power I will try my best to shift as much body-fat in this time as I can.
To help me along and keep me motivated I started the 50,00 calories in 50 day challenge. This means that I need to burn off at least 1000 calories per day through exercise to make this challenge. I’m loving my weight training sessions, which are burning off around 600 calories per workout. My cardio workouts are less fun for me because last week I stepped it up a little and went from level 3 to level 4. I can really feel the burn in my legs now, which isn’t feeling nice.
To stop me from getting bored I have a TV set up in the room, which I can listen to music on and keep up to date with all the soaps. Keep that one quiet though don’t want my mates finding out I’m a soap opera fan. The last two workout have killed me and I have seriously considered reducing the length of my workouts from 60 minutes to 45 minutes. But if I do this there is no way I will hit the 50,000 calories challenge. I’m hoping it will get easier as I burn fat and get fitter.
So to keep me motivated on this a little more I will be posting a picture of the calories I burn on the exercise bike daily. I will also stick onto the screen the date and will post it on here everyday. Lots of people will probably thinking he can photo-shop each picture to make it look like he’s exercising. For one I can’t use photo-shop and two If I did this, I would only be cheating myself.
My goal is to lower my body fat percentage and this will only be achieved through sheer hard and exercise. I will probably need to exercise a little more than the rest of you, because I really like my food. And this is one vice I can not give up. Don’t get me wrong I will eat healthy but when I get a takeaway I will eat smaller portions. What I have been doing is halving my portion size and getting two meals out of it. Eating two 500 calories meals three hours apart is much better than eating one 1000 calorie meal all at once.
Today I have managed to shift 1275 calories through exercise. By doing a one hour weight training session and a one hour cardio session on my exercise bike. Here is the picture of today’s cardio calorie burn. It shows a calorie burn of 671 in 59.59 minutes I stayed on a few more seconds till it reached 675.
