How To Stay Away From Chocolate

By Keith | Weight Loss Blog | Body Fat Percentage On March 21, 2009 3 Comments

body fat percentage 23.6%Over the past couple of weeks I’ve been a little naughty and I keep tucking into the girlfriends chocolate jar. I just can’t resist it, I’ve asked her on numerous occasions to hide it. But she keeps calling me for having no will power. Well today I’ve done something about it. I’ve stuck a picture of a man with six pack abs on the front of the jar. By doing this hopefully it will stop me from snacking on the chocolates and by seeing the picture it will motivate my mind to finally say no to those delicious tasting chocolate goodies.

If I’m to succeed on my fat loss journey I really do need to stay away from them. I’m not being that bad compared to the old me who would of emptied the jar in no time. But I’m grabbing an hand full each time, so the calories are mounting up. I started off with just grabbing a couple each time, but with my increased exercise routine I’m feeling more and more hungry. So I’m now grabbing larger portions. All this exercise is making me feel extremely hungry, but if I can resist the chocolates and maybe snack on something a little more healthy my body will start burning more fat for fuel.

When your on a diet and exercise plan, especially one which is more about fat loss than weight loss. It’s a much longer road, losing fat is ten times harder than losing weight. Almost everyone can eat less for a few weeks and lose weight. The same can not be said about fat loss, most weight loss gurus are feeding you the wrong information. Lose 10 lbs+ in ten days,  what they don’t tell you is 7lbs of it is lean body mass and 3 lbs of it is fat. When your trying to lose fat like I am, you really do need to stay away from the chocolate jar.

Here’s a few picture of the chocolate jar. Its a snowman who my girlfriend likes to call Choco The Snowman. I got the picture of the six pack abs from a men’s fitness magazine. I’m murder for buying those fitness mags. The slogans on the front page just intice me in, and really it’s the same old information month and month.

Exercise Is Making Me Hungry

By Keith | Weight Loss Blog | Body Fat Percentage On March 12, 2009 No Comments

my body fatAll this exercise is doing my fat loss the world of good, I’ve no doubt in my mind about that. But boy is it making me hungry. I’m finding it very hard to stay away from snacks like chocolate and crisps. I’m managing to do it so far but I’m feeling myself slowly caving into the cravings.

Yesterday I nibbled on a few chocolates throughout the day. Whilst I didn’t eat a lot, things like this will not help me to achieve my fat loss goals in 2009. I need to work out what more I can do to keep myself motivated. I’m started a section on the blog titled How To Keep Motivated this is were I am going to insert all the things that I think of and do that keep me motivated.

Keeping motivated is going to be the difference between success and failure for me so I have to stay focused and not lose sight of the challenge I have set myself. I read all over the Internet about people saying that fat loss is easy. For you maybe, but for the average Joe like myself I’m finding it very hard. The exercise I’m putting in is the hardest I have ever done in my life. My diet is fairly good, I keep slipping up a little here and there. So I really need to knuckle down next week when I return from my short vacation and get strict with my diet.

Its a vicious circle at the moment though because I really like my food, and all this exercise is making me extremely hungry. So when I’m hungry I’ve been a little naughty with my diet. The way I’ve got to look at it is, don’t let all the hard work go to waste in the gym for just a few minutes pleasure chomping on a chocolate bar. I have started to chew gum and drink more water when I feel the hunger coming on. I must say it is working a little. I just need to keep it up.

My weekly weigh in is tomorrow, I am expecting another loss. So I need to make sure I stick to my diet plan 100% today. To guarantee myself a body fat reduction. I’ve made a loss every week this year, so it will be good to see how I react to a gain. Hopefully though that won’t happen for a good few weeks yet. The only gain I want to see is when I’m on the muscle building phase which will probably start when I hit 190 lbs. And when that happens I will have lost a total of 44lbs, will I give myself a pat on the back will I hell. Its not the weight loss that is important to me its the body fat loss. There is a big difference between weight loss and fat loss, a very big difference. Hopefully if you keeping reading my blog I will show you exactly what the difference is.
