After Vegas I’m Getting Serious
One of the reasons why I think I haven’t been getting serious again with my fat loss, is my trip to Vegas. I’ve got it set in my head that I’m going to go there and have a blow out so why start getting serious again with my fat loss when it will be a complete waste of time. This is definitely the wrong way to think. It two weeks off Vegas now, and if I really put my mind to it I could easily lose 6 pounds. This is only 3 pounds per week, which for me is extremely easy. All I need to do is drop my daily calorie intake and the weight loss is guaranteed. I reckon I’m consuming at least 3,500 calories per day at the moment, I’m lucky in the sense that my metabolism is fairly fast due to my exercise workouts and eating every 2 to 3 hours.
If I can drop 6 pounds in body weight in 2 weeks this will put me back to my lowest weight of 2009. I’m staying at the Stratosphere whilst in Vegas and they have an indoor and outdoor fitness centre. To reduce my weight gain whilst in Vegas I will probably get in a few workouts. I know 100% in my mind that I will eat lots and lots of food because having been to the states before there portion sizes are a lot bigger than here in the UK and most of the restaurants are buffet style were you can help yourself and fill your plate till it’s overflowing with food.
Hopefully I will return from Vegas having maintained my body weight and body fat percentage. Once I get back to England I’m going to knuckle down and do the things that will allow me to lower my body fat percentage and get back on track with my fat loss journey. I know in my mind what I should be doing to lose the fat, but I just haven’t been doing them.
Here’s a list of the things I have been doing that have allowed my fat loss to stall over the past few months.
1)Not eating a good protein source during every meal, most meals at the moment are all carbs and fat. This is not good for losing fat and gaining muscle.
2) Eating lots and lots of junk food washed down with lots and lots of beer. No wonder I feel like my beer belly is growing fast.
3)Snacking on chocolate and crisps in between meals.
4) Not drinking enough water and green tea which helps in speeding up my metabolism.
5)Not doing enough cardio exercise.
I know what I need to do and once I return from Vegas. I promise you, I will get straight back to it and you will see a reduction on my body fat chart week after week, till I get to my target of 10% body fat.
Exercising Whilst On Vacation
I’m going on a four nights all inclusive break to the Costa Brava in Spain on Friday. All inclusive means as much food and drink as you want to eat. This is going to be very interesting, because I really like my food. I’ve stayed at the hotel before, and the food there is very good. The deserts are fantastic, I’m not going to let this four day break ruin the weeks of hard work I’ve put in so far. I’m going to eat in moderation and not pig out like I would normally do on an all inclusive break.
The good thing about this hotel is, it’s got a gym, whilst it’s not very big. It’s got everything I need to get a decent workout. I have spoken to friends about me exercising whilst I’m on vacation. And you can guess what they have said their calling me sad and get a life. They also say I’m going on vacation to relax and have fun. I can still have fun a one hour workout each morning isn’t going to spoil my vacation is it.
I know lots of you out there can relate to what I’m telling you.Once your mind is set on weight loss and fat loss it’s hard to get out of the zone. A friend said to me why don’t you just have two days were you eat what you want, I said I can’t do that because once I get a taste for the delicious tasting food it’s hard for me to stop.
I’m in a good position on this vacation because it has it’s own gym. But what would I do if it didn’t have one. Well I would simply do 500 push ups each morning. Push ups are great at giving your whole body a fantastic workout. Especially your upper body. For the cardio I would take a one hour brisk walk down the beach each day. Heck I may still even do that. It beats sitting on a exercise bike listening to my music any day of the week.
Another reason I still need to exercise is I need to keep burning calories through exercise to keep on track with the 50 day challenge. I’m already falling behind slightly, which I intend making up this week and more. Ideally I would like to be in a position on Friday were I have some excess calories in the bank. So I don’t fall further behind when I return from my vacation in the middle of next week. This is going mean a lot of sweat and tears this week for me, its a challenge but I have always loved a good challenge.
If you have got a vacation planned yourself, don’t let it ruin all your hard work. Lots of people get in shape just for their vacation. Don’t let it all go to waste for just one vacation. You will return feeling down and very unhappy. I’ve been there myself and it’s not a very nice feeling. I went to florida for 2 weeks last summer and returned 15 lbs heavier.
