body fat percentage 22.1%I am feeling so full of energy and I’m so focused and motivated to losing fat and lowering my body fat percentage once and for all. This motivation is allowing me to see fantastic fat loss results week after week. If I stick at it and keep making these losses I will reach my target well before the end of 2009. My diet plan and the foods which are contained in it are really helping me on my fat loss journey. By eating foods that increase my metabolism I am losing fat whilst building lean muscle mass which is my number one priority at this moment in time.

If you are overweight and don’t know were to start here’s a list of my top 10 healthy foods which I have incorporated into my daily diet plan which have allowed me to lose over 35 pounds in under 3 months.

1) Whey Protein – This is my number one because at the moment I’m needing lots of high quality protein to build my lean muscle mass which will also help dramatically in lowering my body fat percentage. Whey protein shakes are so quick and easy to make and if mixed with bananas and milk make a brilliant pre and post workout meal.

2) Wholegrain Breakfast Cereals – High in fiber which makes it a fantastic food at increasing metabolism. This is your most important meal of the day so you need to make sure that you are getting all the right nutrients.

3) Bananas – These are fantastic source of instant energy and are rich in vitamin B6, vitamin C, magnesium and potassium. I love to eat them mixed in a protein shake straight after a workout.

4) Apples – High in fiber especially pectin, which is said to help lower cholesterol. Also high in antioxidants which helps to protect the cell’s within your body.

5) Salmon – This fish not only tastes fantastic but is high in omega fatty acids which is said to be very beneficial to our health and heart.

6) Almond Nuts – These nuts make an excellent snack, whilst they are high in calories they are jam packed with vital nutrients such as riboflavin, iron, magnesium, calcium, Vitamin E and fiber.

7) Green Tea – Drink this instead of your normal fizzy soda drinks and caffeine and you will quickly be on your way to losing weight. It is also said to increase your metabolism which will help you to burn a lot more calories throughout the day.

8) Baked Beans – Yes you heard it right, baked beans are jam packed with  nutrients such as protein, iron, calcium and fiber. The carbs contained in baked beans is also of the low GI variety.

9) Broccoli – High in antioxidants especially Vitamin C. Also a fantastic source of folic acid which is said to reduce the risk of heart problems.
