Body Fat Reduction Challenge 1 Complete

By Keith | Weight Loss Blog | Body Fat Percentage On April 18, 2009 No Comments

body fat percentage 23.3%Yesterday I completed my first body fat reduction challenge and I’m very pleased to tell you that I reached my target of burning 50,000 calories in 50 days. Well to be precise I burned off a total of 50,160 calories. When I first started the challenge 50 days ago on the 27th Feb. I was so motivated and focused and didn’t really think that burning off 1000 calories each and every day was a lot. Boy was I wrong.

Don’t get me wrong I’m so glad that I made myself this challenge because it has allowed to lose weight and lower my body fat percentage, as well as ensuring that I do not miss a workout. The exercise part hasn’t really bothered me it’s been finding the time to do it. Some nights I have been pounding away on the exercise bike at 11 o clock at night, just to make sure that I hit my daily target on the 50,000 calorie challenge.

If you are trying to lose weight making yourself challenges will keep you motivated. I know, because this challenge really kept me going, sure there were nights when I couldn’t be bothered going into my home gym. But I did it, my only rewards over the last 50 days as been chocolate which if I’m perfectly honest with you. Have slowed down my results slightly.

I’m off to Spain tomorrow for my friends stag party, whilst I’ve not got the beach body I wanted at the moment. I’m looking ten times better than I did 50 days ago. I return on Wednesday, that’s when I will knuckle down again and start my next body fat reduction challenge. I’ve not finalized what this challenge will be yet. All I know at the moment is that it will start on Friday and will be a 10 week challenge. Why 10 weeks, well in just over ten weeks I’m off to Las Vegas watching UFC 100. So I’m hoping to be in much better shape again for this vacation.

I find trying to lose weight and fat for your vacation is a brilliant way of keeping you motivated and focused. I remember all the past vacations I’ve been on were I’ve been overweight and felt like a beach whale when I’ve hit the beach. I never want to return to those dark and unhappy days, this thought alone is enough to keep me motivated.

If you are new to my body fat blog I have been taking pictures daily of the calories that I have been burning off on my exercise bike. Glad that the challenge is over because I can stop doing this now, to be honest it was getting a little boring and time consuming. To find out exactly now I managed to burn off 50,160 calories in just 50 days through exercise check out my calorie burning list here.

Body Fat Reduction Challenge Half Way Point

By Keith | Weight Loss Blog | Body Fat Percentage On March 24, 2009 No Comments

body fat percentage 23.6%Yesterday I reached the half way point of my first body fat reduction challenge. I’m slightly behind in this challenge, but only by 1,805 calories which I know I can make up quite easily over the next 25 days. The good news about this challenge so far is that I’m sticking to it and I’ve managed to burn off in the last 25 days through exercise a whopping 23,195 calories. The last 25 days have been the most I have ever exercised in my whole entire life.

I’m progressing very slowly which is exactly what I want to be doing. I set myself a goal of losing around 1 to 3 pounds each week. Anymore than this and I’m losing lean muscle mass, which is something that I definitely don’t want to be doing. Could I do better, most definitely for one I haven’t been 100% strict with my diet plan. But over the last few days I pleased to tell you that I have been much cleaner with my diet.

Wearing the sweat suit whilst I’m doing my cardio workouts is also helping me and I feel that the body fat is melting away from my body after each workout wearing it. I reckon this weeks weigh in on Friday is going to be a good one especially in the weight loss department. I reckon I will be looking at a 3 pound loss this week, lets hope that it’s all fat. If it is my body fat percentage will drop even further again which is really my ultimate goal.

Ideally I don’t want to be losing any more weight, but I must if I’m to successfully drop my body fat even more. I’m going to drop my body weight till I weigh 190 pounds then it’s onto the muscle building phase of my program. Bulk up a little, then cut weigh again I’m going to do this till my target is attained. 10% body fat percentage at 200 pounds (14st 4 lbs)

The 50,000 Calories In 50 Day Challenge

By Keith | Weight Loss Blog | Body Fat Percentage On March 4, 2009 11 Comments

Setting yourself goals is a brilliant way to lose weight and reduce your body-fat percentage. To be honest when you are trying to lose weight there is only one person who you should be doing it for and that person is YOU. Losing weight to please someone else is a recipe for disaster.

My goal and my first body fat reduction challenge is to burn 50,000 calories through exercise in 50 days. Why 50 days, well my friend is getting married in may and he his holding his stag weekend in Benidorm in April. I started the challenge with 50 days to go. This means I need to burn 1000 calories every day through exercise for the next 50 days. If I manage to stick to this and reach the challenge I’m expecting to lose at least 10 pounds of fat, which will help dramatically in my body-fat reduction journey.

I will be burning the calories through cardio sessions on my stationery bike and exercising with weights in my home gym. Follow me below as I tackle my first challenge and record the calories burnt each day through exercise.

Challenge runs from 27th February 2009 to April 17th 2009
