Back From Las Vegas Watching UFC 100
I arrived back home from Las Vegas yesterday morning and all yesterday was spent resting in bed recovering from the 10 hour flight home which was the worst flight that I have ever been on in my life. When we first got onto the plane we were told that the air conditioning wouldn’t start working till all the engines were running and we were in full flight. We were the first people to dock the plane and it took one hour till everyone was on and the plane was in the air. During this time it was like a sauna on the plane and all my clothes were wet with sweat which meant I had to stand up for the next hour waiting for my clothes to dry out.
Apart from the flight home and Michael Bisping getting knocked out everything else about the trip to Las Vegas was a success. I absolutely love Vegas there is so much to see and do and I will definitely be returning in early 2010. Next time though we are not going to go in July the weather was way too hot with the temperature reaching well over 110.
The main reason we went to Vegas was to watch UFC 100 so next time we go we will be able to go when the weather is sightly cooler. We stayed at the Stratosphere which to be perfectly honest with you was in a terrible location on the Las Vegas strip. It was the the hotel furthest away from Mandalay bay and took about one hour on the bus to get there due to the traffic on the strip. Whilst in Vegas we went to watch a few shows as well, watched a comedian called Carrot Top who’s act is based around props which he pulls out of boxes on the stage. Also watched Phantom which was absolutely brilliant at the Venetian. Didn’t get to do the Grand Canyon, but we have said we will definitely do it next time.
America is so cheap compared to England, so this is another reason why we are going to holiday there more. Most of my holidays in the past have been to Spain and Greece. But with the birth of the Euro and the terrible exchange rate it is just way too expensive now.
Friday and Saturday was spent at the UFC FAN EXPO, which was absolutely fantastic. We got loads of freebies and managed to meet loads of fighters. I also spent a small fortune on t shirts and other UFC stuff, the stuff for sale there was extremely cheap with t shirts selling for $30 which in the UK would cost you at least $70. Here’s a picture of me outside the UFC FAN EXPO.

Back To The Real World
Last night I returned home from my friends stag party in Benidorm Spain. And I must say a good time was had by all. Free food and drink and the sun was shining what more do you want. But eating all this food and the calorie laden alcoholic beverages as probably taken its toll a little on my body fat loss progress.
I was eating three large meals a day, breakfast at 9am dinner at 1pm and lunch at 7.30pm. Combine these three large meals with the large quantity of beer I drank through the day and night and I do not expect seeing good results with tomorrows weekly weigh in. The only good thing about it, is at the moment is my metabolism seems to be operating at quite a fast rate. So I’m hoping this increase will help me and allow me not to put on too much fat this week.
Like I have said on numerous occasions though I’m in this for the long run, and I have promised myself to work hard and try to eat the right things. But I am not letting my dieting ruin my life. If I want the odd piece of pizza and pint of beer I will do it. It’s all about doing it in moderation. I over indulged quite a bit over the last few days. Which I knew I would, I have been looking forward to the stag party all year and without all the over indulging, I would not of enjoyed myself half as much as I did. Sure I woke up with a bad head every morning due to drinking too much booze. But I had fun and that was the most important thing for me.
Today I getting right back to it, I’ve been drinking my whey protein shakes and eating the right foods. And I’m just about to go into my home gym for a good weight training session. Talking about exercising I did manage to do a little bit of exercise whilst I was away. I did 300 press ups on Sunday and an other 300 press ups on Tuesday. Hopefully these sessions will have helped with my progress slightly.
Four Day Break In Spain
I’ve just returned from my 4 day vacation in Spain, and I must say I’ve done very well. I’m the first to admit that I absolutely love my food. And with it being an all inclusive hotel there was tons of it. Chips have always been one of my biggest vices, the more chips the better. Well I’m going to give myself a big pat on the back. I didn’t eat a single chip whilst I was there. I was tempted a few times but I stuck to my guns, and went for the healthier option by choosing vegetables instead.
I had three meals day breakfast at 9am, lunch at 2 pm and dinner at 7pm. Each meal was mainly protein and carbs. Such as pork, chicken and veal for protein and potatoes & pasta being my carbohydrate source. It was an all inclusive hotel so the drinks were free, I did overdo the cocktails and beers a little. But compared to the old me I was extremely good.

Chilling Out In The Sun After Walking From Malgrat De Mar to Pineda De Mar
Exercise wise I had a weight training workout on Saturday and Monday. And each day I had a nice 2 hour brisk walk along the beach for my cardio exercise. The gym in the hotel was very basic but I could still do a decent workout and I actually think I worked my chest and back better than I have in a long time, because I woke up the next morning with my chest and back muscles sore.
I’ve got less than 4 weeks now still my next holiday. I’m off to sunny Spain again Benidorm for my friends stag party. I am going to try and shift as much fat as I can till then. The 50,000 calories in 50 days challenge which was created specifically for this purpose should help me to achieve the maximum fat loss that I can.
