My Body Fat The Beginning Of The Journey

By Keith | Weight Loss Blog | Body Fat Percentage On March 4, 2009 No Comments

mybodyfat1Hi people this weight loss blog is about one thing and one thing only My Body Fat. I have decided to start the blog because not only will it keep me motivated, but hopefully I will be able to show you that it is possible with a bit of hard work to reduce your overall body fat percentage and get that toned up look that most of us are desperate for.

I started weight training a few weeks ago now and only last week have I started doing cardio workouts. My starting weight was 16 stone 10 lbs (234 lbs) on the 1st Jan 09. Last Friday on the 27th Feb 09  and I weighed in at 14 stone 11 lbs (207 lbs). So I’ve managed to lose so far an impressive 27 lbs. Not bad but my goal now is to reduce my body-fat to 10% AT 200 lbs.

This is were the hard work begins, not only do I need to drop 7 more pounds but I need to gain around 20 pounds of muscle and lose a lot more fat. It is very hard to build muscle and lose fat at the same time. So my first aim is to get to 200 pounds, once there I can assess my diet and do the things needed to drop more fat and build muscle.

Losing weight has never really been hard for me, but in the past the weight I lost was probably lots of muscle as well. This time I am going to do it the smart way, rather than judging my body on weight loss, I’m going to judge it on the body fat that I lose.

A couple of weeks ago I purchase a fantastic set of scales that measure your bodyfat percentage. Whilst these might not be 100% accurate they state that they are within 3% which is good enough for me and my budget. Getting your body-fat measured by the pro’s can be very expensive.

Here’s a picture of my body fat scales which will measure my body-fat percentage and weight each week or every two weeks.

I plan on weighing myself every friday morning at around 7 am. I may not take body-fat measurements every week, I think I will probably do this every two weeks. Check out my results so far here! Body Fat Chart
