My Friends Wedding Weekend

By Keith | Weight Loss Blog | Body Fat Percentage On May 2, 2009 No Comments

body fat percentage 22.5%One of the main reasons I have been working so hard to lose weight and lower my body fat percentage is my friends wedding. Well I did it mainly for the stag party that we had in Spain a few weeks ago. I didn’t want to hit the beach looking fat and out of shape. Lots of people who were on the party I hadn’t seen me for years, I didn’t want them thinking ‘Oh my god Keith’s really let himself go. I’ve worked my butt off exercising which I’m really proud of.

I’ve just tried my suit on and I’m pleased to say that I can fit in it quite comfortably now which is good news. My friend gets married tomorrow which is a Sunday, and we have got a big night out planned for tonight. Were meeting in our local pub at 7pm for drinks then were off to our favorite Chinese restaurant the Cathay Dynasty at 8pm. The food there is fantastic and when I go I always go to town on the food and overeat quite a bit.

This weekend isn’t going to do my fat loss progress any good at all. I plan on getting a one hour weight training session in just before I go out tonight. Hopefully this will elevate my metabolism enough to burn off the excess calories I will be consuming tonight. Once this weekend is over I am going to knuckle down big time and really move forward with my fat loss.

Fat loss is a lot harder than I had imagined. In the past I always gauged my progress on how much weight I had lost. Boy was I wrong, weight loss means nothing if the weight that you are losing is mostly muscle. By losing muscle not only are you reducing your resting metabolism, but your body begins to develop that skinny fat guy look which is extremely unattractive.

I know what I need to do and I plan on executing it and sticking to my diet plan. But I plan on enjoying myself this weekend and if this means drinking lots of booze and eating junk food so be it. I will just jump back on the saddle on Monday morning and move forward until I reach my target of 10% body fat. It’s going to be a long journey which I plan on being on till the bitter end.

The Saturday Night Takeaway

By Keith | Weight Loss Blog | Body Fat Percentage On March 28, 2009 No Comments

body fat perecentage 23.2%Traditionally if I was not going not or if I was not working on a Saturday night I would get myself a takeaway. Well it’s Saturday night and I’m home alone,  and I have nearly gave into my cravings and rang for my favorite Chinese takeaway. It’s hot and spicy soup for starters with a portion of prawn crackers. A portion of spare ribs in barbecue square and for my main meal I always order special hot and spicy with fried rice and chips.

That’s one big ass tasty meal, but its absolutely laden in calories, I’ve been extremely good so far today and I’ve been able to burn 1100 calories on my exercise bike which took me just over 1.5 hours to do. My usual Chinese takeaway is easily over 1100 calories you can probably double that and add some more on and you might be getting close. I said to myself why waste all that hard work for 20 minutes of pleasure eating a delicious Chinese takeaway.

So instead of the usual Saturday night takeaway I made myself a protein shake mixed with milk and a bowl of Heinz beef and tomato soup. I’m living on Heinz soup at the moment, I ‘m an engineer there and we get items at discounted prices. Another good thing about not giving into my craving tonight is I’ve saved myself a bit of money, money which I can take to Las Vegas with me in July. I’m putting around 50 quid a week away for that trip, I’m going need it because the price of the dollar against the pound is shockingly low.

For all you Americans out there who want to come to England, now’s the time to do it, you will get a lot of pounds back in return for your dollar. I wouldn’t recommend just at the moment though the weather were I’m from Liverpool is absolutely horrendous at the moment windy and raining. I’m home alone and there’s absolutely nothing on the TV to watch. I think it’s going to be an early night for me tonight I’m feeling a little bit tired tonight. I think it’s largely down to me stepping up my cardio from level 4 to level 5. The same thing happened a few weeks ago when I went from level 3 to level 4. My body needs a few more day to adjust to the increased resistance on the leg muscles. They are really burning up at the moment, it’s all going to be worth it in the end though.
