My Fat Loss Journey Week Two

by Keith | Weight Loss Blog | Body Fat Percentage on February 21, 2011

I have just completed week two on my new fat loss journey and I am pleased to tell you that it is going great. Exercise wise it was another fantastic week with me completing all my weight training workouts as well as me doing five cardio workouts as well. Diet wise I have stuck to my plan, give or take an extra few hundred calories each day. I went out for a meal in the middle of the week, at my local wetherspoons. So before I went I hopped over to their website to do some calorie counting to find out what I could eat whilst on my new diet plan.

Before I started my fat loss journey I use to get nachos with chillis to start with, then I would get a large mixed grill with chips and if that wasn’t enough I would get myself a desert as well. Having just done a quick calculation of the calories I use to eat it all adds up to over a whopping 3000 calories for just one meal. No wonder I quickly put on lots of body fat. When I’m bad, I’m really bad but I need to learn that all these calories only go to one place and that is around my waistline. All I got at this visit to wetherspoons, was a pint of diet coke and the sweat chilli noodles with chicken which was delicious. It was a little on the small side for me, but at 500 calories it fitted into my new daily calorie intake perfectly. And was rich in protein and carbohydrates to fuel my workouts.

OK, enough of the small talk at the end of week two I am extremely pleased to tell you that I have lost another 2 pounds in body weight and lowered by body fat percentage by 0.3%. I have lost less weight this week, but I knew I would. Because most of the weight I lost last week was excess water weight which I flushed out with drinking lots of water. I am beginning to find out exactly now many calories I need each day to keep seeing fat loss results. Ideally I would like to keep losing around 2 pounds in body weight each week as well as seeing a reduction in my body fat composition.

203.6 pounds or 14 stone 7.6 pounds

But a better scenario, would be no weight loss, but just a reduction in my waistline measurement and body fat percentage each week. This will mean that I am maintaining or building lean body mass and losing body fat. I am still 100% focused with the job in hand and I’m hoping week three on my fat loss journey will yield more good results. If I continue what I am doing I can see absolutely no reason why it shouldn’t.

My body fat percentage is still very high and I know that to get to were I want to be, it is going to take probably all of 2011 to reach my goals. People who say they can totally transform there bodies in 6 weeks or even 12 weeks. Must be training like full time athletes. My fat loss journey will probably take me much longer than most people, because I have got around 20 to 30 pounds of body fat to lose. And also I have got around 20 to 30 pounds of lean muscle mass to gain. This is not going to be easy and will take time. But I will document my progress on the blog each week and I look forward to hearing from weight loss bloggers who are also documenting their weight loss progress on their blogs. Hope to see you all back for week three’s weekly weigh in!

My goals for Week Two

Lower by body fat percentage = Yes I lowered it by 0.3%

Lose at least two pounds in body weight = Yes I lost exactly 2 pounds

Complete four weight training workouts = Yes

Complete 5 to 8 cardio workouts = Yes I managed to do 5

Reduce my mid section by at least 1/2 inch = Yes I manage to lower it from 38 inches to 37.5 inches. Which is exactly 1/2 inch

Sticking to my diet = Yes give or take a few hundred calories extra each day

I managed to stick to my goals and because of this I have seen fantastic results on the body fat scales yet again. My goals for week three are going to be exactly the same. These goals are a little tough, so after a few more weeks it highly likely that there will be a few nos in there instead of all yes’s. Until then I will continue with the same weekly goals, because at the moment I am achieving them and seeing good results on the scales and tape measure.
