Phase 2 of My Body Fat Loss Journey

my body fatI’ve now almost reached my target weigh of 200 pounds. My body-weight today is 203.6 pounds, but my bodyfat percentage is no where near my target of 10%. I’ve been doing a bit of thinking and this is now I am going to achieve it. I’m calling it phase 2 of my body fat loss journey. I’m going to keep dropping the weight till I reach 190 pounds. Then I am going to increase my calorie intake, probably with more protein and complex carbs and I am going to start trying to put on around 2 to 3 pounds of muscle each week till my weight is back up to 205 pounds. I will probably put on a few pounds of fat but hopefully most of it will be muscle which will help in reducing my body fat percentage.

When I’m at 205 pounds I will drop down to 195 pounds by reducing my calorie intake and dropping 2 pounds each week. When I’m at 195 pounds I will go on the muscle building phase again till I’m at 205 pounds. I will keep cycling by losing fat, then gaining muscle till I reach my target of 10 % body fat at 200 pounds.

This is not going to be easy, especially for me because I have never done it this way before. Let’s hope my body reacts just as well as it does to losing weight. Losing weight for me has always been easy. I have just never given this losing fat business a try, but I’m already finding it a lot harder than just losing weight. Its a challenge, but with hard work and determination it a challenge that I will conquer in 2009.
