The first Day Back On My Fat Loss Plan

Yesterday was my first weekly weigh in, in several weeks and to be honest I didn’t like what I saw. I was totally expecting it though, because over the last 3 to 4 months I have been eating crap. Plus I have just come off a 2 week holiday in Orlando Florida. I did half an hour weight training yesterday, this is because I want to ease myself back into training.

I have made the mistake before, of getting straight back into an hard weight training session and you wake up the next few days feeling extremely sore. Which takes you out of the game exercise wise for around 3 to 4 days. This morning I’ve woke up only slightly sore, so I am going to do a short 20 minute cardio session on my exercise bike.

Only the last few years I have really neglected my cardio workouts, this is because I find them extremely boring. And because I do short high intensity interval workouts. I also find them quite painful and it is this thought of pain and boredom that is putting me off doing them. I need to reprogram my mind to think about cardio exercise, like I do with weight training. Lifting weights can be pretty painful, but I enjoy doing it. So I need to start thinking this way about cardio training as well.

My weight training program runs in 6 week cycles, so starting Monday I am going to start my weight training program again and because I have gained lots of body fat over the last few weeks. I am planning on hitting the cardio hard as well, I am looking at completing at least 5 cardio workouts this week.

Because it is my first week back, I am expecting big weight loss results. So the first few weeks will be getting use to what are the amount of calories I need to eat each day to lose 1 to 2 pounds of body fat each week. I am going to lose weight, so I’m expecting to get my weight back down into the 180′s even the 170′s before I can start going on a muscle building phase.

I go on holiday again on new years day, for a one week all inclusive break to Torremolinos on the Costa Del Sol in Spain. I need to lose lots of body fat before then. This is because it will give me the motivation to eat healthy and not overindulge on my all inclusive break. Too many times I go on holiday and go crazy and quickly gain lots of body weight. Which is almost all body fat.

This week I plan on sticking to my diet and exercise plan and hopefully I will see good results in term of body fat lost on my body fat scales.
